The HYPOPRESSIVE® technique is a global approach to Core Health

With a combination of unique breathing techniques and various postures, the HYPOPRESSIVE method Initially developed as a non-surgical treatment for women with pelvic floor health issues. But over time, this once specialized technique has evolved and slowly broadened into a complete core training program that benefits all ages and lifestyles.

By offering tiered courses to personal trainers and healthcare professionals, HYPOPRESSIVES Canada® creates a community of professionals. These courses will further education surrounding restorative low-pressure approaches to training the core and pelvic floor.

We offer three 15-hour courses to qualified professionals in the following fields:

Course Descriptions

Level 1

The Level 1  course will provide the basic theory and physiology of the Hypopressive technique, review its benefits, and will explain the how and why of its evolution from rehabilitative tool to a full body reprogramming regimen. Attendees will develop an understanding of how to trigger the breath in themselves and how to coach it to clients, and will be required to demonstrate basic mastery of all of the 10 required postures.

Practical Content

  • Technical principles
  • Hypopressive® basic series exercises, transitions and progression
  • Myofascial diaphragmatic release exercises
  • Training methodology for one to one
  • Abdominal muscle weakness level assessment

Pre-requisites

  • Current Health-Related Professional Certification, Approved CV.

Courses are normally taught over one weekend (15  hours total  – Saturday & Sunday), have qualified for 4 CECs to those requiring them.

Upon completion of the course, attendees will be qualified to train individual clients in the HYPOPRESSIVE® technique (though weeks of subsequent in-home practice will be required prior to training) and will receive Level 1 accreditation from IHC/ HYPOPRESSIVES Canada®. Additionally, all graduates of the course have the opportunity to be included on the contact page of the HYPORESSIVES Canada® website for those seeking out a professional in their region.  After completing this course you will be a qualified level 1 Hypopressive® trainer.

Level 2

Level 2  course will provide students with a more in depth theoretical understanding of the HYPOPRESSIVE® technique. The advanced and dynamic series of the HYPOPRESSIVE® exercise program will be practiced at length to ensure you are comfortable with a new program and progressions you can introduce to your clients as they progress from static poses into a dynamic series.

  • Anamnesis and patient initial assessment
  • Proprioceptive system
  • Posturology and articular mobility

Practical Content

  • Myofascial release techniques for the anterior superior shoulder chain
  • Exercises, transitions and progression of the intermediate level exercises
  • Hypopressives  in movement
  • A teaching methodology and advanced procedures for individual and small group sessions
  • Complete assessment of the client/patient status and needs
  • Protocols and exercise prescription

Upon completion of the course attendees will be required to demonstrate the ability to teach the advanced series and know its progressions from the level 1 to the new dynamic level 2 program.  After completing this course you will be a qualified level 2 Hypopressive® trainer.

Level 3

In this third level course the attendees will acquire the final knowledge to become a HYPOPRESSIVE® certified trainer. Upon completion of the course you will be a qualified Hypopressive® level 3 trainer.  To become a "certified" Hypopressive® trainer you must submit and pass a case study, as well as complete and pass a video session with your course instructor.  This session can be booked in the instructors online calendar and the fee will be the course instructors hourly rate.  This video session will allow you to keep in touch with the instructor where by the instructor can communicate directly with you and offer you the necessary feedback on a 1-1 basis.

  • Exercises for Preparatory phases: Myofascial release exercises for HYPOPRESSIVE® sessions.
  • Sequence of level 3 HYPOPRESSIVE®exercises.
  • Progressiones for level 3 HYPOPRESSIVE® exercises.
  • Methodological adaptations and teaching of level 3 HYPOPRESSIVE® exercises.
